Overview
Olduvai Gorge is one of the most important paleoanthropological sites on Earth โ a steep-sided ravine where decades of excavation by Louis and Mary Leakey and their successors uncovered fossil evidence stretching human ancestry back nearly two million years. A small museum overlooks the gorge itself, with exhibits on the finds and the Leakeys’ work, making it a compelling, easily added stop for anyone travelling between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.
