Overview
Saadani is unique on the Tanzania map: the only national park where the bush runs straight down to the Indian Ocean, occasionally putting elephant and even lion tracks directly on the beach. It is a small, low-key park without the wildlife densities of the Serengeti, but the novelty of combining a genuine game drive with a swim in the same afternoon — and its position roughly between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar — makes it a distinctive stop for travellers who want both in one place.
