Overview
Udzungwa is a hiking park, not a game-drive one โ there are no roads penetrating its dense rainforest interior, only trails. That isolation has made it one of Africa’s great biodiversity hotspots, part of the Eastern Arc Mountains chain often nicknamed the “Galรกpagos of Africa” for its high concentration of endemic species, including several primates found only here. Trails range from an easy afternoon walk to a multi-day trek, most leading to waterfalls tumbling through ancient forest.
