10 Day Wildebeest Migration Safari with Walking Tour

The daily schedule

You’ll have a meet and greet on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport with the driver of Josh Dreamland Safari
and transfer to Arusha Farmhouse for a hot lunch (depending on your arrival time). After lunch, you will have a chance to walk around the city for a short time. After walking, you will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, a scenic haven nestled along the Tarangire River in the Great Rift Valley. The park features low-lying hills, iconic baobab trees, acacia woodlands, and expansive swamps in the south, all of which attract a wide range of wildlife, especially during the dry season. Tarangire is renowned for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in Africa and is also home to rare species such as the greater kudu, fringed-eared oryx, and the endemic Ashy Starling. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you will head to Suricata Boma Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive to the legendary Serengeti National Park, enjoying a scenic journey with a picnic lunch en route. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive across the vast plains, home to immense herds of wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras. These herbivores are often seen on their dramatic annual migration, pursued by predators in search of water and grazing—an awe-inspiring natural spectacle found nowhere else on Earth. As the day ends, you will head to Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

After breakfast in Central Serengeti, you will depart for the Northern Serengeti, enjoying a scenic game drive along the way. This journey offers excellent opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and big cats across the vast plains. As you head north, the landscape changes, bringing you closer to the famous Mara River area, known for its rich wildlife activity. You will arrive at Safari Haven Migration Camp in time to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp, where you can unwind and experience the true wilderness of the Serengeti.

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive in Northern Serengeti National Park. This is one of the best times to witness active wildlife, with chances to spot predators, elephants, giraffes, and other animals in their natural habitat. After the game drive, you will begin your journey back to Central Serengeti, enjoying en-route game viewing across the vast plains. Along the way, you will continue to encounter diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival in Central Serengeti, you will check in at your camp or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you’ll descend approximately 600 meters into the majestic Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing. Known as one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in Africa, the crater is home to around 30,000 animals, including endangered black rhinos. Supported by year-round water sources, you’ll see large herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, hippos, and the iconic African elephants. The crater is also famed for its predators—lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the stunning scenery before ascending back to the crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day excursion to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic treasure located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Although one of Tanzania’s smaller parks, Lake Manyara boasts incredible ecological diversity, from dense groundwater forests and open grasslands to the expansive alkaline lake itself. During the game drive, you may spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, baboons, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Bird enthusiasts will delight in thousands of flamingos and over 400 bird species, making it one of Tanzania’s premier birding destinations. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the park, surrounded by breathtaking views and tranquil nature. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive back to Arusha for a relaxing evening and overnight stay at the charming Arusha Farm House, the perfect conclusion to your safari adventure.

After breakfast, you’ll visit nearby Arusha National Park, known for its diverse landscapes—from montane forests and open savannahs to the scenic Momella Lakes and towering Mount Meru. You will begin with a guided walking safari, getting close to giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. This will be followed by a canoeing experience on the Momella Lakes, offering a unique perspective as you glide past hippos, water birds, and beautiful scenery.

Later, enjoy a game drive to spot colobus monkeys, buffaloes, flamingos, warthogs, and abundant birdlife. The park also offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. After a picnic lunch, you will return to Arusha Farm House for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
