Overview
Compact and often overlooked in favour of the bigger northern circuit parks, Arusha National Park packs remarkable variety into a small area: the alkaline Momella Lakes, regularly dotted with flamingos, sit beneath Mount Meru’s forested slopes, home to giraffe, buffalo and colobus monkey. It is one of the few parks in Tanzania where canoeing and walking safaris are routinely permitted, making it a genuinely different, more active day out.
