About This Experience
Chimpanzee trekking takes you into the steep rainforest of the Mahale Mountains, on foot with experienced local guides, following habituated wild chimpanzee groups through genuine forest terrain. It’s a different kind of safari experience entirely โ no vehicle, real physical effort, and the reward of an hour with one of our closest living relatives in the wild. Trips are usually flown in as a dedicated add-on to a northern circuit safari.
